Pack Role-play

Morrigan remained seated upon the dampened soil besieging the rippling pool stationed below the waterfall. Unsure of what to do with herself, she pawed at the sludgy dirt beneath her mitts, an exaggerated sigh brushing along her canines.

Kiibah collapsed wearily into his nest of fresh moss, his golden eyes shutting almost immediately. Begging his body to fall asleep, several of his woes flashed in and out of his mind. The string ended with his concern about the pack's well-being, especially since Rhine had seemed so worried about something; most likely the food. Finally, his brain relieved itself of its thoughts, and the Theta's tail fell limp onto the cold granite underpaw, and slumber overtook him.

Vorra nodded vigorously, tilting her head a bit as he twitched. "Well... I'm starting to feel like they're a threat, with them hunting too and all..." she looked down, "Morrigan... recently came back she seemed startled and looked miserable, wus running into the den, well limping..." Vorra trailed off. "I just think that... for now we should leave the den site in pairs, to stay safe?" she suggested, her pine green gaze watching him curiously. "I'll check on, the... the, the howling hill and further!" she piped, finally remembering what it was called.

Rhine winced, having been woken by Vorra so suddenly. "Th-The kitties?" He murmured, still half asleep as he rose to his shaky appendages. His mandible parted in a yawn as he shook out his fleece, eyeing the female with a quirked brow, "How so? What kind of problems do you mean?"

Morrigan suddenly jumped to her paws, a fusillade of growls pushing through her grit teeth. She succeeded in waking her sleeping packmates in the process of her slipping out of the den, angling South-West of the site. Still soaked and snappy as hell, she practically cleaved her way through the underbrush of the forest, only pausing to flop to the ground, in an overly dramatic swish, when she had reached Whispering Falls. Tassel twitching, her audits swivelled to the sides, her temper writhing like that of a snake chained to the ground. She managed to settle, though, silently situating herself beneath an overhang of the waterfall above, staring into the pools rippling surface with a terribly blank expression.

Kiibah's claws clicked rhythmically against the granite path as he trudged back towards his den, white tail trailing along on the muddy earth. His pale face held no expression, though his mind was jjuggling several different topics, including his curiosity towards why Morrigan had looked so panicked when she returned, the cougars, Vorra's sudden conversation with him, and what Rhine would think of him letting his patient go when he knew fully that she would probably run away. Along with that, he was concerned about the fact that his Beta's paw was so mangled, and desperately prayed that it would not get infected, and if so, he supposed that she would probably hide it from him to avoid being fussed over. Once again, the Theta wondered why he'd joined this pack.

"Rhine!" Vorra managed to utter in a hushed tone. Lacking courtesy as always she simply walked into his den, plopping herself right up against the wall as she stared at him. He looked quite dreary, shed have to keep this short. "We need to talk..." she began, curling up with her bushy plume resting upon her paws. "Its the kitties, they're causing some... problems..." she murmured, still looking at him.

Morrigan, silent as a timid doe, forced her eyes to remain on the ground, only shifting them once the Theta had left. She hadn't even deigned a thankyou. Instead, the damsel sighed, rolling into the chambers corner as she impulsively curled in on herself, nudging the caterpillar aside to begin dozing. A bored yawn escaped her maw, lids sliding shut as inaudible snores began protruding the sputtering silence.

Rhine stared to the wall of the den idly, auditories faltering as his mandible parted in another yawn. He began to doze, lids growing heavy as he nestled his face further betwixt his paws. He craved rest, he never managed to sleep the night before. He was up all night thinking. Truth be told, the elk herd numbers had started to dwindle, and although there were other sources of food around, he feared that it'd go scarce.

Forcing himself to remain calm, Kiibah sighed at his herbs, sorting through them quickly, his brain whizzing. He began to chew on a generous amount of dock and spewed it out onto the leaf that he had wrapped the plants into. Quite immune to the bitterness of each herb, he immediately switched to horsetail, his paws frantically ripping up his marigold, which he didn't need as much of. The golden flower's leaves were then squeezed, moisture dripping onto his horsetail pulp. The sire mixed the horsetail poultice and marigold juice together on the glossy leaf and added a drop of honey from a small bit of honeycomb that he'd brought. He then applied the runny mixture evenly throughout the damaged parts of the paw, before wrapping it with cobwebs without allowing the 'liquid' to drip. He then secured the bandage with another layer of web, and a few large leaves on top, which he stuck a small stick through to keep her from using her paw for a bit. He placed a dried caterpillar, which told her that she'd need to come everyday to his den for renewed herbs, beside her head as he packed up, and left silently.

"Both..." Morrigan muttered, shifting uncomfortably. A low groan escaped her mandible, limp tassel curling around her soaked and slackened frame as her hues fixated onto the male in front. "It's fine," she whispered quietly, audits pivoting forth as her eyes dropped to the ground.

"Your paw is not beneficial." He muttered in a monotone, "Now, I'd like to deal with this quickly." Kiibah dropped the wrapped herbs onto the ground beside his patient, frowning. "Does it sting, or hurt?" The brute bent down, now sitting, his head lowered to her paw and began to lap at it slowly, removing the supposed bacteria that had most likely formed in the wound.

The tangerine lump of fur stirred, head snapping up as her voice echoed from the clostrophobic hallways. Morrigan sighed, tassel limp as she buried her snout between her forepaws, carefully nudging her left one to the side. A muffled "Yes?" Could be heard, another shaky exhale accompanying her reply as she awaited the Theta's arrival, a pit of dread forming in her stomach. The last thing she wanted was to be fussed over.

Vorra's audits flickered a bit as she heard incoherent talking behind her, she wasn't sure what he was saying, and anyway it didn't concern her. She trusted that the Theta was competent and skilled enough to help. She looked back, "Need any help carrying the goodies?" she asked, though they were already at the den. Having escorted the Theta, Vorra decided to leave him at it, "Hes a good at being... herbfull..!" she reassured herself as she slipped back out the way she came. She then brushed along Kiibah saying, "Im sure shell be safe in your hands, you got this," she then headed towards the Alpha's den.

"I would bite her paw off, if it meant she could be more agile." Kiibah muttered to himself, his deep voice barely audible, and blocked by a row of grit teeth, "However, that isn't the case." Of course, he would definitely do psychopathic things to heal his patients, but ridding Morrigan of the paw that she could potentially still use would not be beneficial. Quickly picking up a few wraps of pain relievers and other herbs that would cause wounds to scab quicker, and ward away infection, the Theta followed Vorra, scrambling to catch up with his herbs clamped tightly in his jaws.

"That sounds like youre going to bite her paw off!" Vorra murred out, shaking her head as she peeked her head in to see him assort his herbs, "Oh cool!" she chirped as she turned around, slapping him with her drenched tail. She looked back a bit... "U-uhm... sorry!" she tried to quickly apologize as she trotted into the pack den, following muddy paw prints into the depths. "Mor...!" she huffed out.

"I do not have a preference." Kiibah hummed, his brow furrowing into a somewhat concerned frown, "That paw that she has has never been beneficial." The brute blinked wearily, turning so he could find suitable herbs to carry to Morrigan. However, he knew he would wait for a reply from Vorra before he scampered towards his Beta. He closed his eyes, a sharp intake of breath obvious. The sire would not allow his packmate to see the worry in his visionaries.

Vorra's audits flickered as she traced loud high pitched pants nearby. Her cranium instantly snapped to the side, pine green opticals focusing on a drenched, miserable looking grey silhouette limping into the den, the smile didn't quite mask what her body was communicating. Vorra then returned her look, "She's fine, just cold." she reassured the Theta. "Do you work better when your patients are wet or dry?" Vorra gazed at the Theta intently, her now soaked tail swaying impatiently as she waited for a response, she knew the Beta was not only cold but limping severely now.

Morrigan cast a wary glance towards the Theta of her pack, gulping as she quickened her pace, trotting into the den. She began shivering uncontrollably, slipping into her chamber as she tumbled forth, utterly and completely soaked. Quivering, she rolled over, burying herself into the corner of the clostrophobic room as she continued to shake rather violently. She shouldn't of gone out.

Rhine remained laid in the den, having never really enjoyed the rain. Well, being exposed to it, anyway. He quite enjoyed listening to it. It was oddly calming. "I'm surprised no one else has decided to take shelter with the on-coming storm.." He muttered beneath his breath, auditories faltering to his skull. Though, he quickly dismissed the thought, lounging on his side amidst the overly large bed of moss, nestling his muzzle betwixt his forepaws for warmth. Despite his thickened fleece, the chilling zephyrs still managed to trail into the den, causing him to shudder.

Morrigan skid to an abrupt halt, arriving just behind the den. Of course, the cougars hadn't chased, but she had still continued running. A string of ragged breaths escaped her maw, tassel limp as she slumped to the ground, utterly exhausted. She soon clambered towards the den, standing up to trot into the clearing as if nothing had happened. Tassel rising, she faked a clueless smile, auditories perking forth.

"I would hope that she does not get herself mauled." He replied sincerely, his golden-hued eyes glittering, "But yes, cougars do not commonly hunt in storms, so it would be likely that if their target ran away, they would not chase." The brute traced a few droplets of stray water that had landed on his coat with a forepaw, before ridding his off-white pelt from them.

Morrigan began limping down the river bank, mutilated forepaw kept high in the air. Thunder yowled, Morrigans tail slashing from side to side in reply as she beamed up towards the crying above. She eventually did have to retreat towards the forest, weaving herself between the large pine trees in an attempt at hiding from the rain which had actually begun hurting her back, but, she was still enjoying the storm. Lightning sheeted the forest in an ethereal gold, revealing two pairs of beady green eyes that were situated on the opposing side of the creek. Morrigan froze. A low growl reverberated from her, tassel raising as she began backing up, ducking into the shrubbery of the forest. And, turning, she ran.

Upon seeing the larger wolf rise up so quickly Vorra instinctively flinched a little, her reflexes working overtime. "W-well hey there..." she murmured, trying to make herself heard over the claps of lightning and her favorite... growls of thunder. "Youre also worried huh... I guess it is indeed bad..." Vorra murmured, gazing at him before she shook her coat out a little, spraying him with some water unintentionally. She had already heard all she needed to, but nevertheless she gazed at him. "You think shed return safely? I know cougars don't hunt in this weather, kitties hate the water..."

Watching Morrigan disappear into the distance, the fur along Kiibah's spine rose in fear. Even if he did wrap her paw, it would still slow her down, and she was leaving! As an inaudible string of curses paraded through his jaws, the brute jumped to his paws, turning to settle his gaze upon the approaching dame, tilting his head.
